The softer side of the APE

Was doing my usual routine this morning (before my working day starts), looking at blogs that will inspire and give me "some light" to the rest of the day. Came across NIGO's blog and honestly this is the first time i am looking at his blog. There were a few entries which caught my attention and there was some "cuteness" to the items that they are selling these days. I know that the monkey icon (don't kill me for saying that) itself already spells cute (or maybe i should say STREET) but having to see the coin purse and the bag really hit my soft spot. I don't mind owning a set ^^

Miss Marc, you are beautiful~

I was trying to find some story or even a short write-out about Miss Marc but unfortunately i can't seem to find any. All i know is, she is call Miss Marc. Yes, its the range by Marc Jacobs. Some may find her ugly and a doll who has a really big mouth. Behind this "unattractive" (i think she has got character) face, Miss Marc has made her first appearance to the world in 2006. She must have what it takes to be around for the last 4 years and i am sure she is here to stay ^^

Start on the right note~

Let's admit it, its only human to feel down and "disconnected" at time. Everyone has their little way or two to curb their discomfort and recharge for the coming days ahead. Words of encouragements from family and friends are very important. Understanding and love is also another medicine. Or maybe its as simple as an icecream.

Joe Ledbetter

Influenced by classic animation, graphic design, and daily life, Joe Ledbetter's art is... well... a lot of things. Light-hearted in its approach, he often combines cute and cuddly creatures with unfortunate — albeit humorous — situations. With a lean on the subversive and absurd, these scenarios are all too familiar, questioning our tendency of taking life (and ourselves) too seriously.

While working as a graphic apparel artist for three years, Ledbetter got involved in the LA underground art scene, beginning with group shows like Cannibal Flower. By the summer of 2004, he had honed his trademark visual style of emblematic line-work, vibrant colors, and endearing characters to the point of quitting his day job. With international appeal, he has had numerous solo exhibitions in Los Angeles, Tokyo, London, Paris, Rome, Toronto, Taipei, Istanbul, and Amsterdam. His work has also sold at Christie's auction house in New York. Joe's incredible cast of creatures have since been emblazoned on over 100 designer vinyl toys, as well as apparel and lifestyle brands, the world over.

SHIN TANAKA

SHIN TANAKA was just a graffiti artist. He had been looking for an interesting canvas instead of a street-wall.One day, he hit upon an idea to draw graffiti on a toy. But he didn't have a good toy for it, then he made a toy from a paper as his new canvas. His ORIGAMI experiences helped it. His paper toys are based on a street culture, therefore many artists and brands are interested in them.
Before now, over 500 artists and brands join in his paper toy project. His paper toys have been growing with involving pop art, graffiti art, street fashion and more.
